Area roundup: Sandwich dominates at quadrangular

Indians post a perfect score, Lady Indians place four in the top five

The Sandwich boys and girls cross country teams both dominated the course at Walcamp Retreat Center in Kingston during Saturday's quadrangular with Genoa-Kingston, Stillman Valley and Galena.

The Indians finished in the top 5 spots in the event with Steve Aguilar capturing first place in a time of 16 minutes, 32 seconds. Aguilar was followed across the finish line by, Wyatt Miller [2nd, 17:01], Dayton Beatty [3rd, 17:02], Johnny Rizzuto [4th, 17:08], and Max Cryer [5th, 17:19]. The Lady Indians were paced by a second-place finish by Alana Stahl [20:49], followed by Claire Roberts [3rd, 21:21], Peyton Rogers [4th, 21:40], Molly Roberts [5th, 21:48], and Prayer Sommers [10th, 24:31].

Ottawa captures invitational title

At Moline, the Lady Corsairs won the championship of the Moline Invite tournament.

For Ottawa, Jenna Smithmeyer went 4-0 at No. 1 singles, while the doubles teams of No. 1 Rylee O'Fallon/Isabel Heimsoth and No. 2 Cora Sisk/Emma Walker also won all four of their matches. Emma Cushing finished 2-2 at No. 2 singles.
