Silver Cross Foundation to host BBQ & Brews fundraiser Sept. 24 in New Lenox

The Silver Cross Foundation has partnered with Hickory Creek Brewing Company in New Lenox to host BBQ & Brews from 3 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 24.

The fundraiser will be held at the brewery, 1005 W. Laraway Road, Unit 260, New Lenox, and benefit Silver Cross Hospital.

The community is invited to come out and raise a glass to support the region’s 100 Top Hospital and its health care workers.

BBQ & Brews participants can choose from dine-in/patio seating or curbside pick-up for a $50 donation.

Seating will take place from 3 to 5:30 p.m. and 6 to 8:30 p.m. Masks and social distancing will be required along with proper sanitization throughout the event.

Smokin Z BBQ will be serving pulled pork or chicken sandwiches along with two choices of their signature macaroni and cheese, smoked BBQ beans or creamy coleslaw.

Those who dine-in can enjoy a flight of Hickory Creek’s 4-ounce craft beers or a bottle of 12-ounce Bramble Fruit Mead, an alcoholic drink made of fermented honey, fruits, spices, grains and hops.

Individuals who prefer to pick up their dinner will receive the same Smokin Z meal along with a bottle of mead or s 16-ounce can of Hazy IPA or Irish Red Ale.
