McHenry County reports 23 new cases of COVID-19, no additional deaths

The McHenry County Department of Public Health reported 23 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and no additional deaths Tuesday.

The county now has seen a total of 3,258 confirmed cases, 113 related deaths and two probable deaths as of Tuesday evening, according to the health department. McHenry County's COVID-19 recovery rate remains stable at 95%.

On Tuesday, the Kane County Health Department reported a total of 9,933 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 305 deaths.

The Lake County Health Department reported a total of 12,845 confirmed cases and 432 deaths.

Statewide, the Illinois Department of Public Health reported a total of 196,948 confirmed cases and 7,657 related deaths as of Tuesday evening.

So far, Illinois has conducted a total of 3.1 million COVID-19 tests. The statewide recovery rate also is at 95%.

According to MCDH, the Woodstock ZIP code 60098 and Crystal Lake's 60014 have the most COVID-19 cases in the county at 515 and 514 cases, respectively.

MCDH reports only ZIP code data that is located within McHenry County, according to a department spokeswoman. Any discrepancies between county and IDPH numbers are likely because of the data's provisional nature and because each health department finalizes its data at different times, according to a department spokeswoman.
