Kane County Sheriff's reports for July 3-5

These are the latest Kane County Sheriff’s reports:

• A landscaping company reported a theft July 5 of landscaping equipment valued at $7,263. According to the report, the owner had used a lot belonging to Elmhurst Chicago Stone, 7N479 Route 25, St. Charles Township, for a month to park several trucks and trailers. He had been there on July 3 to lock up for the holiday weekend and returned on July 5 to find the locks were cut, trailers were broken into and equipment was stolen. Items included various trimers, a pole pruner, backpack blowers, edger and chain saw, reports stated.

• Toya T. Smith, 53, of the 1400 block of Meyer Street, Elgin, was charged July 5 with leaving the scene of a vehicle damage accident, driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance and improper lane use.Smith was also wanted on two DuPage County warrants for driving with a suspended license.

• Someone drove into a garage door in the 5N200 block of Grey Barn Road, St. Charles Township between 3:50 and 4 a.m. July 3, causing $1,500 in damage.
