Residents of the Batavia Public Library district are able to obtain an eCard through the library's website, bataviapubliclibrary.org, according to a news release from the library.
The eCard gives patrons immediate and free access to the library’s online resources, including downloadable eBooks and eAudiobooks, and also allows users to download or stream movies, TV shows, and music.
It also gives access to all online resources that are available through the library’s website including Tutor.com which provides on-demand tutoring, homework help, test preparation, and writing assistance in over 60 subjects for students from kindergarten through college, the release stated.
Those seeking a card will need to provide their name, address, email address, phone and date of birth. The process is designed to take just minutes, the release stated.
The eCards are valid for 90 days from the date of sign up.
Those who hold a Batavia Public Library card already have access to the online services and do not need to apply for an eCard.
Library cards that expired or will expire between Jan. 1 and June 30 have been automatically extended to July 4.
Library staff is available to provide help to anyone who needs it between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. weekdays.
