Energizer to close Dixon plant, lay off 125 workers

DIXON – Energizer is closing its Rayovac battery distribution facility and laying off 125 employees.

Layoffs will begin in May, according to the latest WARN report, which requires larger employers to provide notification of a plant closure or mass layoff.

In 2018, Spectrum Brands Holdings entered an agreement to sell its batteries and appliance division to Energizer Holdings, and the agreement was completed early last year.

The Dixon Rayovac facility at 200 E. Corporate Drive is a packaging and distribution center, operating since 2003 and shipping about 11 million cases of batteries annually.
