A Joliet man was arrested after the cops investigated a tip that he was uploading child pornography to social media, police said.
Illinois State Police investigators executed a search warrant on Tuesday in the 800 block of Milan Avenue after receiving a tip that files containing child pornography were uploaded to social media, police said.
During the execution of the warrant, state police investigators came in contact with Alex Abreu, 32, and arrested him on a charge of child pornography possession, police said.
Additional charges are pending in the case and the investigation remains active, police said.
Abreu was booked into the Will County jail about 11 a.m. Tuesday.
State police investigators also arrested another Joliet resident on a child pornography charge last week.
Deon Wallace, 21, was arrested Feb. 6 after investigators executed a search warrant at his residence in the 1100 block of Bartel Road, police said.
State police said an internet protocol address registered to Wallace's residence was associated with a Snapchat account that was uploading images identified as child pornography.
Wallace was booked into the Will County jail but was released Friday on a $30,000 bond.
A judge ordered Wallace to have no contact with anyone under the age of 17 outside of household members, according to court records. He was also barred from having any access to the internet except for medical or court purposes.
Wallace is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 27 for a preliminary hearing.
