Spring Valley man receives six-year prison sentence for delivering heroin

PRINCETON — A Spring Valley man was sentenced to six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for a Class X drug felony on Tuesday.

Ryan M. Buck, 27, was sentenced for unlawful possession of heroin with intent to deliver by Bureau County Circuit Judge Marc P. Bernabei.

According to a press release issued by the Bureau County State’s Attorney’s Office, a confidential source working with the Tri-DENT Task Force purchased heroin from Buck on June 5 in Spring Valley while under surveillance.

Tri-DENT agents then did a search of Buck’s residence and found a backpack with his identification card inside along with multiple individually-packaged baggies containing heroin.

First Assistant State’s Attorney Thomas Briddick was the prosecutor in this case. Bureau County Public Defender Michael Henneberry was the defense attorney.
