Lake in the Hills officials are waiting to hear back from representatives of Ginger’s LITH LLC before moving forward with a proposed upscale video gambling café at 130 N. Lakewood Road.
During a Nov. 6 Committee of the Whole meeting, the Village Board heard a presentation for a 3,000-square-foot café that, in addition to five gaming machines, would offer beer, wine and a casual food menu.
Annual food and beverage revenue is anticipated to make up more than
60 percent of the business.
In a letter to the village, Ginger’s representative Amanda Piatek said the classy and upscale nature of the café will perform phenomenally in Lake in the Hills.
“Ginger’s will not only present a unique concept, but also the aesthetic and quality of work we intend to do will be shown through our style and well-designed craftsmanship,” Piatek wrote.
Village President Russ Ruzanski said as far as he knew, Ginger’s representatives have not met with village officials since Nov. 6.
Once the village hears back from the company, the proposal will be brought back to the agenda as an action item, Ruzanski said.
