Geneva's Niche to be featured on 'Check, Please'

GENEVA – Niche Restaurant, 14 S. Third St., Geneva, will be featured on “Check, Please,” scheduled to air at 8 p.m. Nov. 9 on PBS.

Owner Vinny Balistreri said he had never seen the show before he learned Niche was being featured. “Customers write in and ... if you come up enough, they will start looking at you seriously,” Balistreri said. “They will do interviews with customers to see if they are vibrant and good on TV – and if the restaurant is worthy.”

The show picks three restaurants from three customers, and then all go to each restaurant, Balistreri said. Participants cannot talk about the show, so Balistreri said he does not know who recommended Niche.
