PERU — Archie Wright, 82, of Peru, passed away on Sept. 21 in his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hurst Funeral Home in La Salle. Military rites will be conducted outside the funeral home on Monday by the Ottawa American Legion Post 33 Veterans Group Honor Guard. Burial will be private on Tuesday in Lyndon Cemetery in Lyndon Station, Wis. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday from 9 a.m. until time of services.
Archie was born in Mauston, Wis., on Dec. 13, 1935, to Clinton and Alice (Radloff) Wright. He married Monna Davenport on July 28, 1956, in United Methodist Church in New Lisbon, Wis. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Peru. Archie proudly served his country in the U.S. National Guard. He was a retired maintenance administrator for Buzzi Unicem.
Archie was also a member of the Oglesby Elks and the Masonic Temple in Peru. He was also a proud member of the Walleye North America Association.
Archie enjoyed hunting, fishing, football, basketball and golfing. He dearly loved his family and attending his grandchildren’s various events.
He is survived by his wife, Monna Wright, of Peru; his children, James A. (Renee’) Wright, of Antioch, and Pamela (Robert Valdez) Wright, of Ottawa; and grandchildren, Crystal Wright, Jennifer Wright, Laura Lenhausen, Ashley Wright and Amy Lenhausen.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey A. Wright; and his parents.
Pallbearers will be James Wright, Robert Valdez, Doug Knettle and Jerry Panizzi.
