Warrant arrest
Oswego police are arrested Bryan J. Browning, 33, of the 500 block of South Randall Road, Aurora, at Route 30 and Hill Avenue at 8:39 p.m. July 19. Police said Browning was wanted on a Kendall County warrant for failure to appear in court on a prior charge of driving on a suspended license.
School bench damaged
A bench was found damaged at Prairie Point Elementary School in the 3600 block of Grove Road on July 23, according to Oswego police. Damage to the bench was estimated at $400.
Take two theft reports
Oswego police are investigating two incidents of retail theft at a store in the 2700 block of Route 34. Police said the first incident occurred July 18 and the second occurred July 21. The total value of the merchandise that was taken was less than $300, police said.
Scammed out of $9,000
Oswego police are investigating an IRS scam that cost a village resident $9,000. Police said the incident occurred July 20 at 1:19 p.m.
Drive-thru hit-and-run reported
Oswego police are investigating a hit-and-run crash in the drive-thru lane of a fast food restaurant in the 300 block of Douglas Road at 2:31 p.m. July 21. Police said someone driving a silver Mitsubishi Lancer struck and damaged another vehicle driven by a 27-year-old Oswego resident. Damage was estimated at less than $1,000, according to police.
Hit-and-run crash reported
Oswego police took a report of a hit-and-run crash on Orchard Road at Route 34 at 8:33 p.m. July 18.
Warrant arrest
Oswego police arrested Matthew C.Volkman, 38, of the 300 block of Chicago Road, Oswego, on a Kane County warrant at his home July 19 at 12:58 p.m. Police said Volkman was detained at the Kendall County Jail in Yorkville pending the scheduling of court proceedings.
Boulder Hill resident arrested
Oswego police arrested Mayra Quiroga, 28, of the 0-10 block of Fieldpoint Road, Boulder Hill, after stopping her vehicle on Route 30 at Goodwin Drive at 11:47 a.m. July 19. Police said Quiroga was charged with driving on a suspended license, speeding and having no insurance. Quiroga was later released pending a court appearance next month.
Bicyclist injured on Adams Street
An Oswego resident, Joshua M. Colby, 27, was injured while riding his bicycle on North Adams Street at North Street at 1:05 p.m. July 16, according to village police. Police said Colby collided with an SUV driven by Joanne Males, 84, of Montgomery. Police said Colby was transported to an area hospital, while Males was not hurt.
Theft reported at civic center
Oswego police took a theft report at the Oswegoland Civic Center on Ashlawn Avenue on July 17. Police said a juvenile stole $45 from another juvenile.
Warrant arrest
Oswego police arrested Eduardo J. Caballerio, 26, of the 600 block of Edison Avenue, Aurora, on a warrant on Route 30 at Route 34 at 7:55 p.m. July 17. Police said Caballerio was taken to the county jail in Yorkville pending court proceedings.
Property reported missing
Oswego police took a report of missing property at an apartment in the 70th block of Main Street on July 17. Police said property valued at $620 was either mislaid or stolen.
License, speeding violations
Oswego police arrested Lucio Mil-Ramirez, 62, of Yorkville, after stopping his vehicle on Douglas Street at Route 71 at 3:01 p.m. July 18. Police said Mil-Ramirez was charged with driving on a revoked license and speeding.
One hurt, one cited in Rt. 71 crash
An Oswego resident, Karen J. Robinson, 52, was injured when her SUV was struck from behind by another SUV driven by Alexander G. Federau, 22, of Yorkville on Route 71 west of Douglas Street on July 18 at 3:34 p.m., according to Oswego police. Robinson was taken to an area hospital, and Federau was cited for following too closely, police said.
