Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet, opened an Adult Education Center within Daybreak shelter in Joliet recently.
This project was generously funded by a grant awarded by The Community Foundation of Will County and a donation from Joliet Township.
The new space was created by renovating a 480-square-foot room at the shelter into a dedicated classroom for homeless adults to use for courses and meetings that will help them obtain employment and work toward their goals.
The ribbon-cutting for the Adult Education Center was June 5.
Daybreak Center is the largest homeless shelter in Will County, with a capacity of 120 beds.
