STREATOR — Ronald J. Redman, 85, of rural Streator, passed away Wednesday, May 23, at OSF Center for Health, Streator.
Following cremation, private family services will be at a later date. Burial will be in Grand Ridge Cemetery. Winterrowd Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Ron was born Nov. 5, 1932, in Streator, to Walter Virgil and Theresa (Kauzlarich) Redman.
Surviving are sister-in-law, Barbara Redman, of Georgetown, Texas; nephews, Virgil (Cathy) Redman, of Vacaville, Calif., Jerry (Jeanette) Redman, of Streator, and Jim (Cheryl) Redman, of Leeander, Texas; niece, Patricia (Ron) Sanford, of Buchanan, Mich.; and several great-nieces and nephews and several great-great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Virgil Redman; and a nephew, Shane Redman.
Ron graduated from Streator High School in 1951 and while attending high school he played in the band and was a member of the FFA.
He farmed in Eagle Township and raised cattle his entire life. He was a member of the Streator Moose Lodge and worked bingo at various clubs and organizations for many years.
Memorials may be made in his name to the American Diabetes Association.
Ron was loved by all of his great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
