Train services restored after 'police activity' clears at Ogilvie Transportation Center

Train services were restored Wednesday after police activity at Ogilvie Transportation Center brought the station’s transport schedule to a standstill.

Affected Union Pacific North, Union Pacific West and Union Pacific Northwest trains were restored shortly after noon Wednesday, according to tweets from Metra sent at 12:18 p.m.

Trains could not enter or leave the Chicago center Wednesday morning because of "police activity," Metra officials said in tweets sent at
10:53 a.m. and 11:47 a.m. Wednesday.

Some media outlets reported that Chicago police were investigating unattended luggage left at the station.
