Police seek public’s assistance in finding Plainfield man

Authorities suspect 21-year-old Ruben Gamino might have fled to California

PLAINFIELD – Plainfield police have asked for help in finding a man wanted in connection with a December domestic incident.

Ruben Gamino, 21, is wanted on suspicion of aggravated domestic battery and unlawful restraint, police said in a Facebook post.

“His last known address was in Plainfield, but he may have fled to California,” the post stated.

Gamino called police Wednesday after seeing the post and said he would turn himself in when he returns to Illinois, Sgt. Mike Fisher said. Gamino said in the phone call that he was out of state, but police are not sure of his whereabouts.

“We’ve been looking for him since the incident was reported to us,” Fisher said.

The incident was reported Dec. 16. A woman’s arm was broken and an order of protection was issued against Gamino, Fisher said.

Gamino is described as 5-feet, 10-inches tall, and weighing 142 pounds. Anyone with information about Gamino's whereabouts is asked to call Plainfield police at 815-436-2341.
