Ari Fisz is selected associate judge in 19th Judicial Circuit

WAUKEGAN – Ari P. Fisz has been selected to be the next associate judge of the 19th Judicial Circuit, a news release from Chief Judge Jay W. Ukena stated.

Ukena was notified March 9 by Marcia M. Meis, director of the Administrative Office of Illinois Courts, that Fisz received the majority number of votes cast and is eligible for appointment to serve as associate judge in Lake County.

Fisz will fill the vacancy created by the appointment of Judge Joseph V. Salvi to circuit judge. Fisz was found highly recommended by the Lake County Bar Association’s Judicial Selection and Retention Committee, according to the release.

“Mr. Fisz’s knowledge of the law, management experience, temperament, and fair mindedness make him an excellent addition to the bench for the 19th Judicial Circuit. We are looking forward to him joining us in the very near future,” Ukena said in the release.

Fisz attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in political science in 1995 and his Juris Doctor in 1998. He was then admitted to practice law in Illinois. He is a member of the Lake County Bar Association. Fisz is chief of the Felony Trial Division with the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office.
