Police: Woodridge woman attacks pregnant woman, steals her phone

JOLIET – A Woodridge women allegedly kneed a pregnant woman, stole her iPhone and gave false information to the police, authorities said.

About 12:40 a.m. Tuesday, police arrested Erin M. Guy, 32, of the 2100 block of Country Club Drive in Woodridge in connection with the alleged attack.

Police were contacted by the 19-year-old girlfriend of Guy’s nephew, who claimed she and Guy got into an argument on the phone and Guy hung up on her, Joliet Deputy Police Chief Ed Gregory said in an email.

Guy’s nephew’s girlfriend is a few months pregnant, Gregory said.

Guy may have hung up on the pregnant girlfriend but apparently wasn’t through with her, police said. She allegedly headed over to the woman’s residence and went inside to yell at her. The girlfriend claimed Guy also slapped her in the face and slammed her knee into her abdominal area despite knowing she was pregnant.

After Guy left, the girlfriend contacted the police, who met with her while she was being treated for her injuries at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center, Gregory said. Officers then learned Guy reportedly was in an apartment building in the 2200 block of Glenwood Avenue, he said.

According to police, when the officers went to the apartment building to apprehend Guy, she allegedly gave them false information about her identity. The officers also reportedly recovered an iPhone that Guy had stolen from the pregnant woman. After her arrest, Guy was booked into the Will County jail.
