D&D Jewelers moves from downtown Sycamore to DeKalb Avenue

SYCAMORE – For the first time in 100 years, the storefront at 303 West State Street in downtown Sycamore is no longer a jewelers. D&D Jewelers has moved from downtown to a new location at 1739 DeKalb Ave.

"We loved downtown, but we couldn't get the new ways of doing things in that space," owner Dawn Sukach said.

So, they packed up shop and moved about 10 days ago.

Sukach pointed to different displays for custom jewelry, including a station for compeer-aided drafting designs. She said there is also now a window to the customer jewelry shop inside the store.

"People were asking for a fashionable, updated space and hopefully we delivered," Sukach said.

The old storefront won't remain empty for long. A women's clothing store will open Tuesday, according to signage in the window.
