PLAINFIELD – Perry Dorrestein and Thomas “Doc” Levek will become the newest inductees into the Plainfield High School Athletic Hall of Fame during ceremonies on Saturday that also coincide with Plainfield Central’s 1 p.m. homecoming football game against Oswego East.

Dorrestein, a 2006 graduate, was a top prospect on the offensive line who earned All-State honors for coach John Jackson’s Wildcats. He went on to become a three-year letterman for the University of Michigan and reached the NFL, where he was on the Bears’ practice squad.

Levek has been a dedicated fan of Wildcats athletics for 30 years. Beside attending many events in a variety of sports each season, he also has been a dedicated volunteer, helping out as a timer, scorekeeper, announcer and assisting at cross country and track meets.

Both are expected to start the day in the homecoming parade that runs through the village. Then they will be officially inducted into the hall of fame at the alumni tea that takes place at the high school cafeteria. And finally, they will be recognized at halftime of the football game.

The hall of fame, which inducted its first class in 1999, now will have 40 individuals as well as seven teams who are honored with plaques in the entryway way to the gym and field house.
