(Editor’s note: This is part one of the two-day exhibition results)
More than 30 4-H members, ages 8 to 18, participated in the first day of the two-part Kendall County 4-H Horse Show. The youth and their horses spent the day at Dr. Howard Koch Arena at Harris Forest Preserve on Saturday, July 8.
“The first day of exhibition featured horsemanship and showmanship classes, as well as both English and Western riding styles,” said Kim Eisnaugle, 4-H Youth Development program coordinator. “Youth showcase what they have learned and trained for throughout the year.”
Nicole Stiegart of Yorkville earned the Senior English High Point trophy and rosette with 45 points and nine class wins.
Reserve Champion honors went to Ryane Brady of Oswego. The Junior English High Point award went to Yorkville’s Augie Staudacher, and Delaney Fisher, also of Yorkville, earned the Reserve spot.
In Western style, Senior High Point rider was awarded to Heather Marz of Montgomery, with Molly Breen of Newark earning the Reserve rider position. Casey McMurray of Willowbrook was named Junior Western High Point rider. The Reserve rosette went to Audrey Breen of Newark.
