HVAC company buys a competitor, moving to Sterling

ROCK FALLS – A longtime heating and air conditioning company has bought a competitor and is moving across the river.

In May, Loescher Heating & Air Conditioning bought Heat-Co Mechanical Inc., 1705 Westwood Drive in Sterling, from retiring owners Mitch and Glenda McNinch.

Loescher is moving from its home at 907 E. 17th St., in the Rock Falls Industrial Park, and will open at the Heat-Co building off West LeFevre on July 17, secretary Dawn Arndt said Monday.

In January, Loescher also bought Lance’s Refrigeration in Rock Falls from owner Rick Lance.

Loescher, which is based in Freeport and also has a location in Monroe, Wisconsin, is owned by Beth and Sean Lane of Freeport and also is a certified Female Business Enterprise, a designation by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council that means the business is 51 percent female-owned, controlled, operated, and managed.

Services include heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing installation and repair, as well as duct cleaning and 24-hour emergency services.
