One of the benefits of owning a successful community business is finding opportunities to share that success, and to support other people, businesses, and charities within one’s hometown and surrounding area.

Ann Garvey, owner of Celebrity Dance Studio in Downers Grove, has found a special opportunity that fits that bill.  From a field of 50 nominated businesses, Ann recently won the Chamber630’s Business Excellence in Service award (for the Downers Grove and Woodridge communities).  Her success has enabled Celebrity Dance to sponsor various charities to raise funds for causes that help others achieve success in their own lives.

The Richard and Gina Santori Charitable Foundation is a special organization that earned the highest level “Platinum Sponsorship” from Celebrity Dance.  “I’m very proud to be part of this event,” said Ann.  “Gina Santori cares about people, and is very driven.  She has given back to Aurora in a big way, by donating the money for Aurora’s new library.”  After losing her husband in 2010, Mrs. Santori focused on the Foundation, which also funds scholarships for science, aviation, nursing, and medical education.  To date, the Foundation has assisted more than 750 students in their quest for knowledge.

Celebrity Dance is a platinum sponsor of the Santori Foundation Dance Showcase, which takes place Sunday, October 18.  All are welcome, and you can join as a spectator or as a competitor.  This exciting event will be held at the Meyer Ballroom, 8 E. Galena Blvd, Aurora, IL from 2:00 - 6:00 pm.

No matter your age, dance skill level, or favorite dance style, you’ll enjoy the show.  Free “mini” dance lessons will be available, along with food and drinks (cash bar) and a raffle with prizes.  Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three winners of the dance competition.
