ELMHURST – A Chicago man was arrested July 31 after he allegedly fled from the police when they attempted to pull him over. He was eventually found hiding under a vehicle and was taken into custody, according to an Elmhurst Police Department report.
Paul Jacome, 28, of the 7000 block of Cahill Terrace, Chicago, was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated DUI, aggravated fleeing and eluding, aggravated driving while license revoked, reckless driving, two counts of speeding, improper lane usage, failure to signal a turn, driving without lights when required, two counts of disobeying a stop sign, expired registration, unlawful use of registration, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
About 6:45 a.m. July 31, an Elmhurst police officer was trying to pull Jacome over near the intersection of East St. Charles Road and South Poplar Avenue when he allegedly turned off his headlights and fled the scene, the report stated.
Jacome's Volkswagen Jetta was found abandoned at 556 W. Lake St., and eventually police located the Chicago resident nearby, allegedly hiding under another vehicle, according to the report.
Jacome was transported to DuPage County Jail.
