Sue Maynard

WALNUT — Sue Maynard, 67, of Walnut died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, at Northwestern Hospital in Chicago.

Sue was born Feb. 26, 1947, in Princeton, the daughter of Everett L. and Mary Gladys (Headspeth) Sarver. She was united in marriage to Rick Maynard on Nov. 12, 1983, at the Walnut United Methodist Church in Walnut.

She worked at Harper-Wyman for more than 30 years and a few years for Peru Home Entertainment. Sue was a big fan of country western music.
 
She is survived by her husband, Rick; two sons, Denny Tate of Princeton, and Josh (Erica) Maynard of Lincoln; one daughter-in law, Kasie Tate Linder of Tiskilwa; eight grandchildren, Justin, Braden, Kiara and Trevor Tate, Evan, Ethan, Emery and Eli Maynard; five brothers and sisters, Linda (William) Elmore of Sweetwater, Tenn., Everett L. Sarver Jr. of Walnut, Vicki (Robert) Benson of Columbia, Tenn., Gary (Nancy) Sarver of Sterling, and Debra (Michael) Andrew of Walnut; numerous nieces and nephews; her mother-in law, Betty Maynard of Princeton; brothers-in-law, Ron (Jackie) Maynard of Geneseo, Mike Maynard of Walnut, Larry Maynard of Princeton and Steve (Kim) Maynard of Manlius.
 
She was preceded by her parents; one son, Derrick; her father-in-law; two nephews, one brother-in-law and one sister-in-law.
 
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 19, at the Garland Funeral Home, in Walnut with the Rev. Jack Stites officiating. Burial will take place in the Walnut Cemetery.
 
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, at the Garland Funeral Home, Walnut. A memorial has been established in Sue's memory.
