Hinsdale Central teacher resigns after allegation of improper communication with student

HINSDALE – A Hinsdale Central teacher was put on leave Dec. 12 and later resigned following allegations that the teacher had improper communication with a student at the school, according to a letter from District 86 Superintendent Bruce Law.

In a letter to parents, Law wrote that a student approached a member of the Hinsdale Central High School administration Dec. 12 and reported inappropriate communications between a fellow student and a teacher.

The district said it investigated the allegations, and within hours had placed the teacher on leave and escorted him out of the building. According to the letter, the teacher resigned the following school day.

The letter also said that the administration filed a report Dec. 12 with the Hinsdale Police Department and the Department of Children and Family Services. Both agencies are conducting their own investigations, the letter stated.
