ADDISON – A meat-processing company focused on providing custom menu and supply chain solutions to businesses across the country began full-scale operations this week in Addison.
Owner Monika Rose Walas founded Mistica Foods in May, and it now employs 200 people at its 40,000-square-foot production plant and facility, according to a company news release.
It serves national and international customers and offers products under the Mistica Ranch Meats brand name, the release stated.
Walas grew up in the meat manufacturing business and previously headed the strategic innovation team at Quantum Foods, a protein processor, before deciding to launch her own venture, according to the release.
Mistica Foods is fully staffed with meat processing and food science professionals, the release stated. The procurement team includes industry experts in protein purchasing, forecasting and hedging.
“We have been creating significant momentum with this newly formed company by focusing on increasing our customers’ market share as well as retaining their current market share by consistently providing innovative and on-trend menu solutions as well as cost-savings strategies,” Walas said in the release.
