PRINCETON — Mary Lou Jones, 77, of Greenfield Retirement Home in Princeton, formerly of 418 Whitver St., Walnut, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton.
Born Feb. 22, 1935, in Cassopolis, Mich., to John and Lorena (Kromm) Detzler, she married Everette R. Jones Dec. 30, 1953, in DeKalb. He preceded her in death.
She was employed by Harper-Wyman in Princeton, Peerless Level and GBH Homes in Walnut, and Jostens in Princeton during her lifetime, and also was a member of the First Christian Church of Walnut.
Surviving are one son, Jerry Jones of Hermitage, Tenn.; one daughter, Judy Mandrell of Sesser; two grandchildren, Jade Ewald of Walnut and Justin Mandrell of Sesser; three great-grandchildren, Christian Ewald and Logan Nally, both of Walnut, and Camille Mandrell of Sesser; one brother, John Detzler of Aurora; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James Detzler.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Garland Funeral Home, Walnut, with the Rev. Brian Moore, pastor of the First Christian Church of Walnut, officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
