ROCK FALLS – Janet S. Stanley, 59, of Rock Falls, died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. She worked at National Manufacturing for 28 years, retiring in 2000.

Janet was born March 17, 1952, in Prophetstown, the daughter of Burless L. and Shirley M. (Hodge) Jenkins. She married Ronald D. Stanley in 1972 at St. John Lutheran Church in Sterling. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, caring for her stray cats, bowling and being outdoors in her yard caring for her lilies and petunias. Janet was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Ronald Stanley of Rock Falls; two sons, Mike Stanley of Miami and Aaron Stanley of Rock Falls; and four grandchildren, AJ, Ethan, Nolan and Damian.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Donald; and a sister, Joyce.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dalmus Meeks officiating. Burial will be at Coloma Township Cemetery in Rock Falls.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
