WAUKEGAN, Ill. (AP) — Authorities say a 26-year-old therapist from a child advocacy center in Lake Villa is being held in the Lake County Jail for allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old boy who was a resident there.
Assistant Lake County State's Attorney Mary Stanton said Cori Lynn Rivelli of Libertyville has been charged with one count of criminal sexual assault.
Rivelli was arrested Thursday and remained in jail Monday in lieu of $200,000 bond. She was scheduled for a court appearance Tuesday.
Rivelli worked at Kids Hope United, which describes itself as a private, nonprofit human service organization dedicated to protecting children and strengthening families.
A staff member there called police after reportedly hearing the 14-year-old telling another resident that he had been having sex with Rivelli since June.
