Scott Gapsevich retired last week after a 30-year career as a city engineer reviewing many of the new developments that came into Joliet during that period.
“Scott was the primary reviewer of new development,” said Director of Public works Greg Ruddy. “He also worked on many other projects.”
Gapsevich’s last day of work was Thursday.
“Scott will be sorely missed,” Ruddy told the Joliet City Council when it met last week.
Ruddy said the city is in the process of hiring a replacement in order not to leave the position vacant.
“This is an important job,” he said.
