The first yard waste pickup of the year for Amboy will be Thursday, April 23, according to Melissa Eisenberg, Amboy city clerk.

Eisenberg said yard waste pickup dates will be announced each month. City crews will be going around Amboy picking up lawn waste, including bagged leaves, sticks and branches. There is no need to sign up to get yard waste picked up.

That date coincides with Amboy’s spring cleanup. The spring cleanup event will take place from April 23 to April 25.

Amboy residents can drop off items at the city maintenance building from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 23 and April 24 and from 7 a.m. to noon April 25. The event excludes tires and electronics.

From 7 a.m. to noon April 25, the city will hold a tire collection event at the city maintenance garage. Cost is $2 per tire, and ID will be required to drop off tires. The event is for passenger tires only and is limited to six tires per household.
