Harvard man accused of sexually assaulting child

27-year-old remains at McHenry County Jail with bond set at $750,000

A 27-year-old Harvard man is due in court Monday after police said he sexually assaulted a minor.

Cristian Villareal remained at the McHenry County Jail on Friday on a $750,000 bond. He would need to post $75,000 bail to be released.

Villareal was arrested Wednesday on a single count of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child. The charge stems from Aug. 30 allegations that he had inappropriate contact with a minor, court records show.

Predatory criminal sexual assault is a Class X felony typically punishable by six to 30 years in prison.

Villareal, whose last known address was in the 1300 block of Primrose Lane in Harvard, is scheduled for a bond hearing Monday morning. He had not hired an attorney as of Friday.
