Two teens remain in critical condition Thursday following a crash Wednesday night near Woodstock, according to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.

A 2003 Ford truck was heading north near the 4900 block of Route 47 when the truck crossed into the southbound lane for unknown reasons, went into a ditch and came to a stop next to a house about 6:45 p.m. Both the driver and passenger were ejected from the car, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

The car’s occupants were an 18-year-old from Hebron and a 19-year-old from Richmond, according to the release. Both were flown with life-threatening injuries; one to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville and another to Javon Bea Riverside in Rockford.

First responders arrived at the scene within eight minutes and found the teenagers, who were both unconscious, Woodstock Fire/Rescue District communication specialist Alex Vucha said.

Two medical helicopters were requested and landed at the scene, Vucha said.

No damage to the house was reported, Vucha said.

The sheriff’s office released a notification at 7 p.m. Wednesday that Route 47 was closed from Allendale Road to Raycraft Road until further notice.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area.
