Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Seneca.

Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 300 E. Union St., Seneca, is hosting a service of rededication of its church building 10:30 a.m. Palm Sunday, April 10.

The Rev. Marilyn Hanson, assistant to the Bishop, Northern Illinois Synod will be preaching. The building was dedicated 56 years ago on Palm Sunday, 1966. There will be a cake and coffee reception following the service.

The church experienced a boiler room fire in November 2021. Recovery has taken four months and included cleaning of the building interior and paraments; replacing the ceiling tiles and repainting of the Fellowship Hall; repainting of the hallway, offices, conference room and Sunday School rooms; and recarpeting of the sanctuary, narthex, hallway, offices and conference room. The boiler will be replaced by Chapman’s Mechanical Systems, Peru. The work to date has been performed by ServPro of Morris/Ottawa and H&S Contracting, Oglesby.

During this time the congregation was welcomed for worship by Immanuel Lutheran Church in Marseilles.
