The 300 block of Congress Street between Shabbona and Division streets in Ottawa will be closed to all traffic beginning 8 a.m. Thursday.

Tree contractors and Ameren will be on that block for a tree removal and expect the work to take most of the day. Those needing to travel in that area are asked by city officials to make plans in advance for using an alternate route until the block can be reopened.
