Teams and individuals from Morris, Ottawa, and Princeton all competed in the Class 1A boys tennis Sectional meet on Friday, May 22, 2026 at the La Salle-Peru Township High School Athletic Complex in La Salle.

Connor Barth became the first Morris tennis player, boy or girl, to win 100 career matches in a victory over Coal City.

With the boys tennis season upon us, here is a look at the season ahead for a number of teams across the Herald-News area.

Morris sophomore Connor Barth won the singles title at the Class 1A La Salle-Peru Boys Tennis Sectional on Saturday while the Cavaliers' duo of senior Andrew Bollis and junior Danny Santoy finished runner-up.

Joliet West hosted a quad tennis match featuring Joliet Township, Joliet Catholic, Plainfield South and Coal City on a nice Saturday afternoon.

The Ottawa doubles team of brothers Adam and Noah Gross claimed the sectional title, while the La Salle-Peru duo of Andrew Bollis/Danny Santoy, plus Morris’ Connor Barth finished third.

With the bad weather the past two weeks, not much high school tennis has been played, but Ottawa and Morris made up for it on opening day of the Interstate 8 Conference season.
