This photo, believed to have been taken about 1875, shows Dr. Moses Royer and his wife, Elizabeth, standing on the porch of what is now known as the Royer home at 401 E. Second St. in Sterling. Royer was one of Sterling's first doctors. The Royers' daughters, Emma (born in 1862) and Elizabeth (born in 1872), are seated in the buggy. Local contractor Scott Hibbard is putting the finishing touches on restoring the Royer home to its former glory. (Photo submitted)
