Marian Central junior Dante Ricciardi rushed 13 times for 104 yards and two touchdowns as the Hurricanes defeated Marian Catholic, 27-14, in their CCL-ESCC crossover game Saturday in Chicago Heights.
The Hurricanes (1-0) also got a pair of touchdown receptions from freshman Christian Bentancur.
Quarterback Brendan Hernon completed 10 of 16 passes for 172 yards and two touchdowns. Bentancur caught seven of those passes for 160 yards.
Hernon also rushed 16 times for 91 yards.
Marian Central finished 4-5 in the 2019 season, one win from being playoff-eligible. The Hurricanes beat the Spartans, 21-0, last season.
