Kankakee firefighters responded to a small structure fire about 11:13 p.m. Sunday in the 1900 block of South Schuyler Avenue.

The mobile home was vacant, and an eviction notice dated Feb. 6, 2026, was on the door, according to a news release.

The fire was contained to a single room and quickly extinguished, according to the release.

Investigators are still working on an exact cause, according to the release.
