The Logan Lions opened the 2022 junior high softball season with a 11-4 win over Geneseo Thursday at Little Siberia.

Avah Oertel went the distance for the win, striking out six and scattering four hits. She also helped herself at the plate with two hits, including a two-run double in the fourth as Logan broke a 4-4 tie to take a 7-4 lead.

Maddie Gibson and Addison Parry also had two hits with two RBIs while Kiyrra Morris (RBI), Payton Brandt and Taylor Compton (RBI) added one hit apiece.
