A Rockdale man was arrested after he allegedly stabbed a woman about her head and body with a screwdriver, according to court records.

About 5 p.m. Monday, Antonio Maiden, 34, of the 700 block of Wheeler Avenue, was arrested and booked into the Will County jail on four counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and three counts of domestic battery.

A criminal complaint filed against Maiden alleges that on Friday he stabbed a woman in the head and on her body with a screwdriver.

Maiden was arrested by the Rockdale police. A call to Rockdale Police Chief Robert Dykstra was not returned Wednesday.

Maiden is being held at the jail on a $250,000 bond. He needs to post $25,000 for his release.

The Will County State’s Attorney’s Office will be seeking an enhanced sentence on the domestic battery charge filed against Maiden due to his prior felony convictions, according to the criminal complaint.

The domestic battery charge filed against Maiden is a Class 4 felony that is punishable by one to three years in prison. The aggravated battery charge is a Class 3 felony that is punishable by two to five years in prison.

In June 2012, Maiden pleaded guilty to violating an order of protection and resisting police. He was sentenced to 16 days and credited with serving eight days in jail, court records show.

On Jan. 9, 2006, Maiden pleaded guilty to aggravated domestic battery. He was sentenced to six years in prison and credited for 186 days in jail.
