Ogle County Sheriff Brian VanVickle reports the following arrests.
Oct. 17
Brittanie Bonnivier, 22, Adams, Massachusetts, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for delivery of cannabis, 30-500 grams.
Her bond was set at $10,000 pending an Oct. 23 court appearance.
Michael Burgins, 31, Rochelle, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for failure to appear.
Burgins’ full cash bond was set at $1,312 pending a court appearance.
Gaylord Widegren, 54, Dixon, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for failure to appear.
His full cash bond was set at $2,461.82 pending an Oct. 20 court appearance.
Deputies arrested Galdin Zarate, 22, Rockford, at 5:40 p.m. for no valid driver’s license following a traffic stop at Ill. 64 and Woodlawn Road.
Zarate was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.
Oct. 18
Jonathan Robles, 28, Oregon, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for criminal damage and criminal trespass to property. Robles posted $3,000 (10%) as bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 20.
Elena Swartz, 41, Rockford, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for driving while license suspended.
Swartz posted $3,000 (10%) as bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 17.
Alejandro Lopez, 39, Rochelle, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for forgery. Lopez’s bond was set at $20,000 pending an Oct. 19 court appearance.
Oct. 19
Faith K. Coulter, 25, Rockford, was arrested at 1:11 p.m. for driving while license suspended following a traffic stop in the 8,000 block of North Illinois 251. She was also cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Coulter was released on an I-bond at the scene.
Tyler Stewart, 25, Polo was arrested at 5:14 p.m. for possession of a controlled substance and driving while license suspended following a traffic stop in the 13,000 block of West Eagle Point Road. Stewart was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond. He was also cited for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Andre Nelson, 50, Madison, Wisconsin, was arrested at 11:17 p.m. for driving while license revoked following a traffic stop in the 15,000 block of West Canada Road. Nelson was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
Oct. 20
Cassandra Ruiz, 25, Leaf River, was arrested at 3:39 p.m. for no valid driver’s license following a traffic stop in the 1,400 block of East Illinois 72.
Ruiz was also issued a citation for operating a vehicle with an expired registration sticker.
Ruiz was transported to the Ogle County Jail, where she was held in lieu of bond.
At 9:32 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop on a white GMC for a traffic violation.
The traffic stop occurred on I-39 southbound at mile marker 108.
After a short investigation, the driver of the vehicle Joseph Ziemienski, 38, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was arrested for driving while license revoked.
Ziemienski was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
Eugene R. Jurasek, 58, Rockford, was arrested at 9:39 p.m. for driving while license suspended following a traffic stop on I-39.
Jurasek was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.
Oct. 21
At approximately 3:23 a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle in the 4,000 block of East Flagg Road for a moving violation.
After an investigation, the driver, Robert Curatola, 30, Rochelle, was arrested for speeding, driving while under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cannabis (less than 10 grams) and possession of a controlled substance.
Curatola was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held with no bond pending a court appearance.
At 3:57 p.m., deputies responded to Third Street and Hill Street in Oregon for wires down. After a short investigation, Chad Cherry, 42, Lamoille, was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol.
Cherry was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.
At 7:25 p.m., deputies responded to the intersection of Freeport Road and Sterling Road for a motorcycle accident with injuries.
It was learned that the motorcycle was westbound on Sterling Road when the driver lost control in the gravel causing the motorcycle to roll, throwing the rider off the motorcycle.
After a short investigation, Jared Pettenger, 28, Tampico, was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol.
Pettenger was released at CGH Hospital on an I-Bond with a return court date on Nov. 17.
Pettenger’s passenger was flown to Rockford Memorial by REACT for non-life threatening injuries.
Deputies were assisted on scene by Polo Fire and Ambulance, Dixon Rural Fire, REACT Helicopter and CGH Ambulance.
Multi-vehicle accident
At approximately 7:34 p.m., deputies responded to a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of East Ill. 64 and German Church Road, east of Oregon.
The investigation revealed that two motorcycles were both eastbound entering the intersection when they collided.
One motorcycle entered the north side ditch and the other motorcycle, driven by Robert Prehn, 32, Palantine, traveled down and came to a rest in the east bound lane of East Ill. 64 as a result of the crash.
A following eastbound pick up truck driven by John Bailey, 46, Sycamore, struck Prehn’s motorcycle in the eastbound lane.
A second eastbound truck following Bailey’s vehicle, driven by Troy Krigbaum 22, Macon, then struck Prehn’s motorcycle a second time.
Bailey, Krigbaum and Krigbaum’s passenger were uninjured and all released at the scene by Oregon and Mt. Morris Fire and EMS.
Prehn wasn’t on his motorcycle when it was struck by the two trucks, but was transported to Rockford Memorial Hospital by Oregon EMS for his injuries suffered in the previous motorcycle collision.
The driver of the second motorcycle fled the scene on foot.
Deputies were assisted by the Oregon Police Department. The area was checked but the driver was not located.
Deputies met with Prehn at RMH were he was arrested for driving while under the influence, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
Prehn was released at the hospital and his injuries were considered non-life threatening.
The crash remains under investigation and deputies are following leads to identify and locate the other driver and or others that assisted in him leaving the scene.
Pawel J. Olesiak, 40, Franklin Park, was arrested at 11:07 p.m. for driving with a revoked driver’s license following a traffic stop in the 2,000 block of West Ill. 64.
Olesiak was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
John T’s towing removed the vehicle from the location.
Oct. 22
At 1 a.m., deputies were dispatched to 151 Wayne Road for a domestic battery. After a short investigation, Nicholas Mendez, 20, Rochelle, was arrested for domestic battery and unlawful consumption of alcohol.
Mendez was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in lieu of bond.
At 2:16 a.m., deputies along with Mt. Morris Police and Fire responded to the 6000 block of West Ill. 64 for a two-vehicle accident.
It was learned that a 2016 Chevy pickup truck driven by Nicholas Dawtyne, 32, Oregon, crossed the center line and struck head on a 2002 Ford pickup driven by Dave Johnson, 55, Polo.
Johnson was transported to KSB by Mt. Morris Ambulance for injuries suffered.
Dawtyne was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol and transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was being held in lieu of bond.
Jacob Gale, 24, Polo, was arrested at 3:41 p.m. for driving while license suspended following a traffic stop at the intersection of Ill. 26 and Hillside Drive.
Gale was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was being held in lieu of bond.
Oct. 23
At approximately 11:30 p.m., deputies responded to Meridian Manor Trailer Park following the reports of a domestic disturbance.
Upon further investigation, Curt Palmer, 36, Stillman Valley, was arrested for domestic battery.
Palmer was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held awaiting a court appearance.
Derek Sage, 32, Dixon, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for failure to appear. Sage’s full cash bond was set at $2,982 pending an Oct. 24 court appearance.
Rueben Burgess, 27, Rochelle, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for failure to appear. Burgess’ full cash bond was set at $4,058.42 pending an Oct. 24 court appearance.
Aaron Odell, 43 Rochelle, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for failure to appear.
Odell posted $135 as bond and does not have to appear in court at a later date.
Amy Freeman, 47, Rockford, was arrested on an outstanding Ogle County warrant for failure to appear.
Freeman’s full cash bond was set at $302.71 pending an Oct. 24 court appearance.
Ciara A. Ancona, 30, Davis Junction, was arrested at 1:56 p.m. for possession of a controlled substance, driving while license suspended, and on a Rockford warrant for retail theft following a traffic stop in the 5,000 block of North Illinois 251.
Ancona was also cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
