Funeral arrangements have been announced for a mother and two young twins killed Monday in an apparent murder-suicide.
Celisa Kay Henning, 41, and her 5-year-old daughters, Makayla Ashley Henning and Addison Riley Henning, will be laid to rest Wednesday.
A celebration of the mother and daughters' lives will begin at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, "with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:15 a.m., then driving in procession to St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10 a.m.," their obituaries said.
Mother and daughters will be laid to rest in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Visitation for the mother and daughters will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Tezak Funeral Home.
Celisa, Makayla and Addison Henning all were found dead Monday afternoon in the bathroom of their North Reed Street home, according to the Will County Coroner's Office.
Celisa Henning had suffered a single gunshot wound to her head, according to the coroner's office, and Makayla and Addison had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to their heads.
Makayla and Addison's grandmother, Norma Henning, said Celisa Henning had complained that her “body felt like it was on fire” since she had been injured in an automobile accident.
Norma Henning said Tuesday that Celisa Henning suffered from health problems after the car crash, but declined to specify what was troubling her daughter-in-law. She said Celisa Henning had seen 20 to 30 doctors and visited the Mayo Clinic, but she was “just at her wits’ end.”
The coroner’s office has said the final cause and manner of the three deaths will be determined upon the conclusion of the police investigation and with the return of autopsy and toxicological reports.
