Face Time with Kevin Stahr

Aurora resident Kevin Stahr, 39, who works as the communications coordinator for the city of Geneva, was on Third Street in downtown Geneva when he answered 11 questions for the Kane County Chronicle's Al Lagattolla.

Who would play you in the movie of life? A lot of people say I look like Bob Saget, so I guess he would be playing me in a made-for-TV movie.

Is there a movie you would recommend? I like “Anchorman,” or any of the Jason Bourne movies.

Where did you grow up? Clarendon Hills

What was your first job? I worked at Kramer’s grocery store, stocking shelves, in high school.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to play in the NBA.

Did you play basketball? I did in high school and in college at North Central.

What position did you play? Center and forward. Eventually, I stopped growing. So that NBA dream faded away.

Do you have hobbies? I'm really into sports, any Chicago sports team besides the Cubs. … I'm interested in 20th century U.S. history. I'm kind of a history buff.

What is your favorite local restaurant? I've liked many different restaurants since I started working in Geneva. My favorite is Old Towne Pub and Eatery.

Do you have family here? I am married, and I have a 2-year-old daughter.

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I have been to five presidential library museums, which goes along with my history buff personality. It’s something that always fascinated me, studying history and the decisions that presidents have faced throughout different eras of U.S. history. I’ve been to five, and I hope to make that list longer.
