The Marshall-Putnam Trail Riders (MPTR) will celebrate their 20th year celebration on Saturday, Aug. 22, at the Putnam County Conservation District. The rain date will be Saturday, Sept. 12.
The celebration, set for 4 to 6 p.m., will include music and food. A scheduled trail ride will start at 1 p.m. with a scavenger hunt and raffle.
This trail riding club was established by a group of dedicated trail riding enthusiasts who wanted to have an organization that was all about trail riding. The club was established in August 1995 and has a very active membership to this day. The club members are from central Illinois and are very busy riding most weekends at equestrian parks throughout Illinois. The club holds informational meetings on many different horse related topics during the winter months.
Past members and friends are invited to the celebration to visit with current members and share memories.
New members are always welcome.
Questions about the event can be posted on the Marshall-Putnam Trail Riders Facebook page.
