Western Springs man dies after falling from Chicago building

Police are continuing to investigate the death of a 21-year-old Western Springs man who fell from the 18th floor of the DoubleTree Hotel in Chicago Sunday morning.

Police responded to the 300 block of East Ohio Street just at about 1 a.m. after receiving reports that a man was found unresponsive on the sidewalk.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office reported the man's cause of death as blunt force injuries sustained from a fall from height and ruled the man's death a suicide, according to a spokeswoman for the medical examiner's office.

According to media reports, the man was attending a function at the hotel Saturday and later got into an argument with a woman in his room. The women went to the bathroom and when she returned, a room window was broken and the man was lying on the sidewalk below. A suicide note was found, according to media reports.
