VILLA PARK – A Joliet man was convicted Thursday on charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse involving a 13-year-old Villa Park girl.

Joshua Scheun, 36, of the 4300 block of Timber Ridge Court, was sentenced to three years in prison and is required to register as a sex offender upon release. Scheun pleaded guilty to the abuse charges.

Scheun met the victim on a social networking site on March 18, 2013 and met her in person on March 22, authorities said. Scheun was originally arrested on May 5, according to the DuPage County Sheriff's Office.
