AMBOY – Shiny cars, trucks, and motorcycles of almost every color lined the streets of downtown Amboy Saturday for the 19th annual Depot Days car show. Vehicles ranged from old classic cars to the new, cutting-edge motorcycles.

Over the years, the Depot Days Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show has become the centerpiece event of the annual festival that celebrates the city's railroad heritage, attracting car enthusiasts from across the country.

Altogether, this year's show included about 600 cars and trucks and 500 motorcycles.

"We have car entries from as far as New York," said Hank Gerdes, manager of the car show. "We were even featured on 'My Classic Car,' a popular television show [on the SPEED network]."

A large crowd of spectators, both young and old, echoed the popularity of the show.

"There are a lot of old cars, I like those the best," said Tyler Roberts, 11, of Mendota, who attended the car show with his family. "There is even a motorcycle that looks like a rocket."
