ROCKFORD – Jason Allen Ferrell, 36, of 708 Dickerman St., Rockford, died Monday, May 4, 2009, in Byron Township, Ogle County. He was a restaurant exhaust cleaner and maintenance contractor.

Jason was born April 5, 1973, in Phoenix, the son of Terry D. Bailey and Leah Ferrell. He was a 1993 graduate of Mount Morris High School. Jason's passion was playing golf.

Survivors include his girlfriend, Stephanie Brown of Rockford; one son, Jacob Allen Andrew Ferrell of Byron; his mother and stepfather, Leah Ferrell and Al Shelton of Mount Morris; one brother, Terry D. (Beth) Bailey of Dixon; maternal grandmother, Jessie Angleton of Dixon; two nephews, Zach and Cody Bailey of Dixon; and one soon-to-be-niece, Breckyn Bailey of Dixon.

He was preceded in death by his father, maternal grandfather, and paternal grandparents.

The funeral is at 6 p.m. Thursday at Finch Funeral Home, Mount Morris, with the Rev. Randy Snider, pastor of First Baptist Church, Byron. Cremation rites will be accorded. Visitation is from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

A memorial will be established.
